I was thinking of purchasing a used Abel Super Series 3N reel that is listed on Craigslist. The seller (wife of deceased husband) doesn't know much about the reel and I haven't had a chance to look at it since we're 50 miles apart. The number on the reel foot is 568. Does anybody know what the reel foot number refers to or references? Abel is closed until Monday.

I have no idea, just guessing it would indicate the number of reel off the assembly line. That reel retails for $450 so if you can get it at a good price and are looking for a reel of that size then I would jump on it. The web site says it will hold a 3 wt line with 100 yards of 20# backing or 4 wt line with 75 yards of backing.
