Default Vacation/Fishing recommendations for December?

So the wife has 2 weeks off in December and asked me to start looking into a WARM destination where we (wife, myself, and 6yr old son) can chill and I can get my fish on too.

We live in NJ. Any where in the Conti US that will be good for trout that time of the year someone can recommend would be great. Remember it has to be warm/hot weather.

Thanks,
Fredy

1) Continental U. S.
2) December
3) Good for trout that time of the year.
4) Warm / Hot weather.

Fredy, I truly hope you get an answer to this, that has all four categories ( hot would be good. ), dry would be a plus.

Because if you do, I’ll be booking my flight, room and rental car for the entire winter.

Do a couple of Google searches: Arizona+trout fishing, and New Mexico+trout fishing and see what you get.

Fred

Edit: Did both of the above and tons of 'hits.'

Sea trout? Combining warm December weather and coldwater fishing can certainly be done, especially early in the month, but the days get awfully short around the solstice and the fish are pretty lethargic in cold temps. Can be done here in SoCal, or possibly Lee's Ferry in AZ, although it prolly won't be lounge by the pool weather. Texas would be another possibility. milt.

Yeah, the SR is a weekend away with some buddies for Steel (only 4 hrs away)

I am starting to think that Salt might be the only way to go.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

How about the peninsula in Washington state for Steelhead. It never gets really hot there, but I don't think it ever gets too cold either due to its proximity to the northerly flowing Pacific Gulf Stream.....? Its always been right about the 70 degree mark everytime I've been there,ut I've never been there in December.
