Default Lawn cast the TFO today

I fished with my Orvis Saturday,,since it was a very small stream and I didn't make it to the river. But today I finally got out back with the TFO, 9', 5wt,,,and ,,,WOW. That thing really does launch some line ! I was laying down 70+ ft cast in about a 16" wide channel,,Lord,,made me feel like one'a you good casters !

The other side of the coin ...a fish is just not gonna feel quite as good on the TFO as on a mid or slow action rod. Or I suspect not. Guess I'll just have to catch bigger fish,,,,, I really can't wait to get on the river with it (hopefully the New River this weekend) and try some small mouth on it.

It does cast and load fairly decent at shorter ranges,,not bad at all and that surprised me...so, it does have some very decent finess and feel to it as well as power.

But for what it is,,and what it is suppose to do,,,,,I'm gonna say I bought a dang good rod and give some thumbs up to the TFO !

Michael

Nice. I know what you mean about TFO. When I get to double hauling on my 9' 5wt and the line lands softly on the water 60 feet away, it makes me feel like I know what I'm doing.

Would the rod in question happen to be a BVK? I love my 9' 5wt. San Juan troots feel very nice and powerful on it as well . That soft tip helps.
