1. Indicator Yarn dispenser: Use one of those plastic caps for holding and hanging floatant bottles. Attach 3 or 4 inches of clear plastic tube. Stuff in a length of your favorite yarn mixture in the right diameter and cap off with another soft plastic cap cut/perforated like a starfish. Feed the yarn through like a kleenex dispenser. Probably good for two to three quick indicators on the stream.

Zerolimit,

isnt that just a 35mm film canister with an x cut in to the top and a key chain glued to the bottom???

Sure is. Fyshstrykr mentioned that to me a little earlier. Much simpler solution than mine.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I usually have a "below freezing" rod and a regular rod. I like fishing in the winter, but the ice is hard on not only fly line, but guides. Here in Montana, any fishing in Dec/Jan is usually below freezing.

Mike,

fuji makes semi-clear containers for their film, you can put certain colors and sizes in the canisters and sharpie the outside with the dia.

I thought of that already....it is a good idea, however, many of the fly fisherman I have spoke with here in Michigan feel the use of a wading staff become more of a bother than anything....plus I use my staff for everything; unsure I could protect the insturment from being damaged from all the shock and beating I dish out. Thanks for your comment
