I don't disagree with you, but keep in mind from a previous post:

"There have been reports from Europe of myxospores remaining viable in dry pond beds for 12 years(Bauer 1962)."

If that's true, we're only slowing the spread. Of course, I am committed to doing that, but let's not kid ourselves.
