Thanks for the comments guys.

noreaster - It was probably around 30 degrees out with the wind (which was gusting at 20-30mph).

Working right now on our next winter fishing video which will all be Yellowstone River clips... Should be up soon!

Or perhaps they just like watching the fly fisherman cast their way down stream (like souls of fishermen past). A young calf looks at his mother, with a sideways curious expression “I love the feeling of mud running through my hooves.”

So far, pretty nice for the U.P., and it looks like it'll continue for a few more days anyway.

There was a time when I would have been right there with those guys. But these old bones won't tolerate the cold any more. I wish I had a penny for every footprint I left in the snow while hunting whitetail deer with a bow.

All that rain Fred was talking about just came thru Idaho. But it slacked off and I spent a couple of hours duck hunting in a long sleeve T shirt. Still 40's and 50's here. I should go fish tomorrow....

Just after 3AM here and put the pooch out and did a 'Woozer, its cold out here!' First night where we've actually dropped anywhere near freezing let alone get there (30 degrees). Even getting to the low 40's was unusual up to this point.

we've got temps in the 40's -50's, but all the local rivers are very low with tough fishing... Just submitted my thesis, and trying to figure out where to fish!

PS sloth love chunk, awesome soundtrack!

Loved the video...nice view of Emigrant Peak in the background while playing the first fish, if I'm not mistaken.

I love winter fishing, as long as it isn't so cold the line freezes in the rod guides constantly.

I look forward to the colder months only because the pressure from anglers dies off and the fish seem to relax alittle bit more. The Erie tribs get a little color to them and that lets you use heavier tippets and your break offs are alomost eliminated. I like the solitude and quiet the winter brings to the streams and forests, the big browns go on the hunt and I'm in my element.

Thanks for posting the video. Its mud season here in Park City. Really the best time of year to hit the river. The lack of anglers and beautiful scenery make for many pleasant days of fishing!
