Default Ok, ok, I admit it...skunked today.

For the first time since I moved to Colorado in 1989, I got skunked. Went to try out my new rod.. the weather was severe clear, and a big river I'd only fished once, briefly. A beautiful day to be out, plenty of room on the river, never saw one fish. I'll get over it.

Welcome to the club. Guess my record of being skunked at least once each year for past 50 years will remain intact against your late charge.

It's better here than in CT. I grew up with a stream through the back yard in Woodbury, lived in Litchfield/Milton with a stream through the backyard, but nothing like the fishing here. No closed season, plenty of C&R, lots of wild trout, lots of sunny days in the winter.

Getting skunked is why I take my pipe and a flask of scotch. If it ain't happening I sit on a rock have a smoke and a couple tugs and everything is good.

It appears that fishing in Va involves more than fishing....

Great weather to be out. Killed me not to get on the water yesterday. Bummer to be skunked but what a great weekend.
