I don't know that I ever enjoyed being a gear wh**re so much as I did several years ago when I sold all but one of my two piece rods and replaced them with four piece rods. On the surface that doesn't sound like much because I was just replacing older gear except that when I was finished replacing rods I had done it a rate of 3 for 2.

Last year, I bought a switch rod and reel, a conventional (revolving spool) salt water rod and reel, and a spinning salt water rod and reel. Biggest year so far - no plans to top it this year. 31 1/2 ft. of rods.
