SPRING....

And now all Nature seem'd in love,
The lusty sap began to move;
New juice did stir th'embracing Vines,
And Birds had drawn their Valentines:
The jealous Trout, that low did lie,
Rose at a well-dissembled flie:
There stood my Friend, with patient skill
Attending of his trembling quill.
Already were the Eves possest
With the swift Pilgrims daubed nest.
The Groves already did rejoyce
In Philomels triumphing voice.
The showers were short, the weather mild,
The morning fresh, the evening smil'd.
June takes her neat-rub'd Pale, and now
She trips to milk the Sand-red Cow;
Where for some sturdy foot-ball Swain,
June strokes a sillabub or twain.
The Fields and Gardens were beset
With Tulip, Crocus, Violet:
And now, though late, the modest Rose
Did more then half a blush disclose.
Thus all look'd gay, all full of chear,
To welcome the New-livery'd year.

Okay, Joe - now you've gone and done it! Doggone it, I was just getting used to this nasty stuff and you just had to remind us all that there is something better on the horizon...:D

Okay then, I'll play. Here are a few from around where I live and fish:

Upper reaches of Harriman State Park, more fondly known as The Ranch:

Millionaire's Pool - a classic scene:

And my favorite spring creek in the spring - Kelly's 'No-Tellum' Spring Creek:

Here's looking forward to warmer weather and rising trout!

Best Fishes,

Kelly.

Not even close here. It looks more like Casey's photo here. In fact, if I saw flowers here, I'd be afraid to touch them. It's 3 degrees and plastic is brittle at that temperature.

It is supposed to get to 25 today. Which means maybe 20. I'm going to go Pike fish. It's still early enough I should not need the extension (we build ice into March most years) for the auger, but I'm taking it anyway.

I'm currently flying from DC to Portland. Looking out the window for the past 5 hours from 34,000 feet, it looks pretty wintry!

Thanks for the pic though Joe!

Oh Kelly, now I'm drooling for any sign of spring! (Thanks, really) Let's see, time to re-check the pmd's and sallies, for starters.

Caseys photo is right on the money for me as I look at Nemo reaking havoc out my window! And that stinking Pa Woodchuck never gets it right! Drilling holes Sunday!

Beautiful pics. I'm just waiting for the ponds and lakes to unfreeze here, and maybe that 4ft of snow we just got to melt away. Definitely still winter here.
