Default Blizzard of 2013

Anyone else up here in the Northeast get any snow last night................??

We sure did!

I shoveled 6" twice last night and there's another 15" on the ground this morinig...........and it's still snowing!

So, that's 27" and counting.........................

We haven't had one like this since the Blizzard of 1996!

We have about 24" so far. Still snowing hard.

At the moment, it's snowing horizontally. The weather people are saying 80-90 mph winds, but it doesn't seem that bad.

Man oh Man oh Man. Am I glad I moved South permanently!!!

Let's see, what was I doing yesterday? Oh I remember. Standing barefoot in shorts on the deck of an 18' Action Craft casting at a lone jumbo permit with my new permit creation. Out of consideration for my fishing buddy, I was wearing a t-shirt though.

The permit immediately headed for my fly - but a stinking jack beat him to it, ate it and made off with its tail, spooking the permit. But it was encouraging, though the fly is very difficult to cast accurately - especially in the wind.

Then the wind began howling, 10 hours ahead of the weather prediction, and a front began moving in. Fortunately, we made it back before a long sleeve shirt became necessary.
mcnerney and lightline like this.

We got around 33-34 inches .... so far.
That's more than was predicted and it's still coming down

Goes to show how strange mother nature can be. Manchester, NH is reporting 14" (as of about 1/2 an hour ago). That is only about a dozen miles from me. Here in Goffstown we are at or over 2 feet. And the snow is still coming down. But I have seen pictures from friends in Boston in which their car is slowly becoming nothing but a large hump in a sea of white....

We got "maybe" an inch of new snow last night here in Wyoming, first real accumulation in a month, we sure could use some of that stuff you guys are getting hammered with out East.

Jim: Sounds like a miserable existence! I don't understand how you can handle all that warm wx and winter fishing opportunities.
Sorry about the Jack stealing your fly, but at least the Permit took an interest in it, maybe the new fly is a winner, when the wind isn't up.

Default Blizzard of 2013

We got a nice dusting here in Cleveland yesterday only to be graced with overcast skies today. Love me a good blizzard every once in a while!
