Default Rio Lt WF1

Got my new LT Wf1 in the post today , its to use on my Orvis 1wt TB.
looking at the line its very supple , but the last few foot of the line feels rough? is it something to do with floating that Rio add towards the tips of there floating lines now.

This is the first Rio Line I have purchased, any info would be good.

thanks

I emailed Rio... my reply...

Hi Spencer,

That is normal. It is our new maxfloat tip and it floats 2x as much as other tips to avoid sinking. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Gunnar

the ebay seller ..Gorge fly shop then sends me a reply...

Hi ,Glad you got the fly line ok without any troubles. It is not uncommon to have a bit of roughness of the fly line at the tip section becuase when they taper the fly line down to the tip you feel more roughness. You would probably have to dig through 10-20 fly lines to find one that is completly smooth.Hope this answers your question....but if you need further information just let me know.

Thank you

Nice choice,

I just bought the RIO LT in a DT1 for my TXL-F 1wt. Can't wait for Aug and BWO / Caddis hatches. Drooling like an idiot in anticipation of wet wading til the sun goes down high in the Rockies and miles from cell phone reception
