Its really not that bad just pay attention to your surroundings and youll be fine!
Like i said one of the better ways to catch Peacock Bass.

I fished the canals in Miami almost every day while at college. Amazing the variety you can catch there. Jack, barracuda, Sheeps head, Mayans, cichlids, lady fish, snook, tarpon, and more.

I'd say grab a nice 5 or 6 wt and let em have it.

P.S. Prepare to lose flies if you're targeting the barracuda. Even the babies will shred your line and make surviving flies look like they didn't survive at all.
