New Pope

Anyone know or read anything about whether or not the new Pope, being from Argentina, is (or was) a fly fisherman?

I bet the Vatican library has some early printings of the Complete Angler by Izak Walton. :)

I hope his papacy will be remembered for restoring an ample supply of condor quill to the fly tying trade.

My new boss!

If he is flyfisherman, he should wear bright red wading boots! The idea sort of brings a new slant to the "the shoes of a fisherman" thing...

The papal hat would look good with some flies stuck in it :

Not to mention the crozier would makea passable wading staff!

Withn the Italian Alps not far away, as well as the ocean, there'd be good fishing possibilities. It's not like he can't set his own schedule...
