Default Ferrule repair

Hello guy's, I'm new her and need some advice. I received a H-I bamboo Spinner 9' rod in trade. I like the rod but the bottom ferrule will move about 1/8" when taking the 2nd piece out. Any ideals on how to tighten it up? Would you totally remove it and glue or what? HELP!!!

Default Re: Ferrule repair

I'd remove it, clean everything and 5 minute epoxy it back into place. Put the epoxy on the inside of the ferrule all over. Use enough to get it glued well and have a rag and alcohol standing by for clean up. you may want to put a band of masking tape around the rod where the end of the ferrule hits the cane. Use a type that is not very sticky so you don't pull varnish off.
