Thanks for the link Casey. Do you think I would be under matched with a 5/6 weight against a largemouth bass. One of the ponds I will be fishing is stocked with big bass. I was trying to type bream in an earlier post. Fingers are faster than my brain lol.

Welcome. You can't go wrong with the uni. If you feel comfortable tying it, keep on using it for fly fishing. I do. In the last four years I've learned to tie most of the other FF knots, but I have (more than once) tied everything from the backing to the fly with uni knots. If you don't know it, learn the double uni. If you decide you like fly fishing, then you can learn all the other knots.

Thank a lot ranger. Im very comfortable with the strength of the uni. I have seen the double. Tried it one and it gave me a headache lol.
