Hopefully some of y'all got the chance to watch a short film called "The Hatch" from a few years ago. I can't remember the river it occurs on but they talk about the salmon fly hatch that trout go nuts for! Throwinghuge 2-3" flies ant trout just crush them.

Talkimg about a cicadia hatch always makes me think about that hatch with trout eating so much they've got flies coming out of their mouths.

It really could make for some epic fishing!

looks like not happening here in the upper part of pa, did hit the last one down state in 2002 and didn't really see much on them though I heard of stories where they were a blast.

Anyone have a suggestion of where I could buy a few flies that are similar. They are supposed to hit my area hard and I have 10 thumbs, so tying is impossible.

Check with a local fly shop, they might have something tied up or will atleast beable to make a suggestion for you.

Any update on this? Has it gone off yet? Anyone give them a go in PA? The weekly Orvis fly fishing videos had a good one on chasing carp with Cicadas this week. Reminded me of this post and I was hoping to hear some good war stories/pictures of epic fishing.

From my standpoint update would be they forgot that their 17 years are up. I've been in PA , LI , WV and an assortment of other places in the past two months waiting to hear that crazy clicking noise I remember so well from years back. Nothing! Not a peep!
