Default Pioneer Weekend

We loaded up Thursday morning the 22nd and headed North for one of our Favorite deep nymphing lakes.
The weather called for 80's for the weekend up there and after the high 90's, that sounded perfect.

We got there around noon and the wind was already starting to pick up. A friend from another forum was already out on the water.

First fish on my line was a 26" long 15" wide Kam...what a rush. Short clip here from Cpierce:

Hook removal:

and release:

Loads of fish were caught with the aid of a secret Chironomid. 30' to 32' of water and fly suspended at 27' or 26'

What a fish. Nice.
Every time that I see stomach food I swear that every thing that I tie is not dark enough.

Thanks guys....I wish I could take you all on the next trip.

art, it is a North Fork Outdoors Outlaw X5. Love how you can do so many things with this boat. My hubby turned his frame the other direction for the gas motor like in the bottom picture (Zodiac style).
We can also put both frames on one bladder for a two man.
We also have the 6' version (Escape)

Nice fish, nice report, nice time!

The full moon was a great Little extra. Thanks for the pics!

Jimmie is right; when I look at your stomach pump results, everything that I tie seems too bright, too.

I've got a lake across the street from me and a rowboat at the float. We need another Stillwater Swap!

If we do, there are two color Chironomids I used that were deadly along with my Damsel Nymph (very easy tie and all on #14 &#12 scuds)
My blood Chirony was killer in the afternoon, but a most unexpected secret tie worked 24/7.
Colors that made no sense...really.
