Default "Well there goes the Neighborhood."

A good thing .. perhaps.

Moved in to my new (construction) home days over three years ago and there were four new homes, including mine in a 20 lot subdivision. Not a 'view lot' but nothing to stop my view looking south, east and west.

No longer ..... Save for two (one the General Contrac's storage lot) have been cut for foundations. Understand the call, minutes drive from Medford, and could/can purchase a 1600 sq'ish home for $175,000? Fully landscaped and 'turn-key?'

Ah well .. it had to happen.

Fred

I know the feeling all to well. When we first moved to Laramie there were two houses in the new subdivision, when I retired there was 40+, but on the positive side it definitely looks better now with all the landscaping people have done. Here in Pinedale my GF lives on a knoll that sits on 2 acres so she has a great view of the Wyoming Range and the Wind River Range.

I know the feeling... Lots of highways now where I saw pronghorns when I first moved here.. All the dirt roads are paved... It's a tossup now between moving to Maine or Oregon.. Maine has some unbelievable real estate prices- lots of land with river/lake/ocean front property for under $200K- in some instances way under.. but Oregon appears to have way better trout fishing, and year round. They're both about equally firearms friendly...It's a lively, ongoing discussion..

The positive spin is that you apparently made a good decision moving there
