My grandfather was a bait fisherman who fished to put dinner on the table in rural Minnesota. This was long before corn subsidies and ethanol mandates.

He valued a sucker as much as a trout and would take anyone fishing. And the worst thing he ever said about a man was "He's not so bad". I hope some day I can be as humble and gracious as he was. Lord knows I've got a ways to go.

I aspire to be like my Dad and my Papa. I never met my papa but I heard enough from my dad to know he's a man to follow.

I would have to say i wanna be just like my dad! The most honest man i have ever met... Has been working his heart out for 30+ years now to support his wife and kids. Now that the kids (me and my sis) are out of the house. He spends his days working for White river fly shop inside Bass pro shops Rancho cucamunga California. My dad knows all the great and has fished with alot of them, Mike Laswson, Rene harrop, Lefty etc... So growing up he told me all his storys and now that i am old enough and deep enough into fly fishing I can see what an honor it would be to spend some time on the water with these guys It inspired me to be the man/fly fishermen i am today! I have seen my dad wrestle a 22 inch brown out of hot creek through a barbed wire fence! The guys is a genius when it comes to fly fishing! Thats my hero and who i most inspire to be like! Hes coming out when i get home and there's knowone better to spend time on the water with even if hes gonna spank my ass all day up and down the river lol. If you ever stop into bass pro in Cali shake his hand!! Love you pop's!

My Dad was great, but I think he would have wanted me to strive to be better. Be yourself but try to improve.

Just myself... as the man that The Speaker of the House and our daughters--those still here and the two who've pre-deceased me --see me to be, even though I'm still the proverbial "work in progress" at age 60. Looking back, I realize that I'm the end result of a mixed bag of men who helped to shape the man and angler that I've come to be-- my grandfather, "Doc" Holship and the late Montgomery Jackson.

And, I'm good with that...

I like being me... most of the time. Not that I'm anything special or anything, but I've been me for 43 years and I'm starting to get used to it.

I'd like to be able to cast a fly rod like Jerry Siem though... I love casting and watch alot of video's, etc. I think he is the best I've ever seen. Really, he throws arrows instead of loops.

My grandpa. He taught me to fish. He taught me to enjoy it even if the fish weren't biting. He showed me that it doesn't matter how I am fishing or what I am fishing for. I learned from him that the memories and moments on the water shared with people I care for last forever and there is a special kind of peace to be had when I experience the solitude and quiet alone on a lake or stream.

I want to be like him.

Bill Gates with half the money in the world...Ted Williams as an outstanding athlete and get to fly fish with the best equipment in the best locations and with the best fly fishermen.... The intelligence of A. Einstien (he could probably spell) ....Worlds best lover Don Juan....and to be a great family man. .....need to add Mario Andretti as the best driver in the world
