4 weeks and still no Helios!!!

"They say every man will stumble,
they say every man will fall,
They say sometimes a man will break his fly rod,
Yet I sent it FedEx four weeks ago.
I jotted down my tracking numbers
And evry man who will touch my rod.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
My Helios will be repaired.

They say evry man needs a good fly rod,
They say evry man will break it sometime.
Yet I swear I see my reflection with the fly rod in hand
Some place in a stream or in a lake.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
My Helios will be repaired." --- Bob Dylan

Are you still drunk from last night or are you on round twelve of your night cap?

wait a minute, I know I am a moron, but does ORVIS repair the rods? I assumed that they would replace?

Okay, if you say so.

Orvis first course of action is to repair a rod. This is dependent if it still has access to its material stock.

On older generation rods in which Orvis does not have or cannot make the material stock, Orvis will offer a modern replacement.

What's wrong, dude? Don't you like Bob Dylan? And what's wrong with a "night cap"? You would, if you could?

"They say evrything can be replaced,
Yet the Helios 2 is already here.
So I remember evry internet disgrace (like innes)
Of evry man who put me down. (like innes)
I see my light come shining
From central PA and to be yearned.
Any day now, any day now,
My Helios will be returned."

"They say every man on the internet is selling something?
and they use tricks to get free advertising all the time,
but I swear I'm only fly chatting, I sell nothing,
and I post pix of fish I catch on my line"

I would but I can't. I'm in a dry country. Bob's not my forte enough to recognize his lyrics; never caught on with me. More of a Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath type guy.

Re: 4 weeks and still no Helios!!!

I love Bob Dylan and your effort in adaptation of his lyric. I also love a good bottle of Scottish whiskey and consider it a fundamental component, almost a tackle item, on any extended fishing trip. I do not particularly like Helios 1's breakage rate nor that it is taking this long, during fishing season to get it back. Having said that; there have been many very fine rods that are fragile. It is hard to be a super light, small diameter, thin walled rod and not require special care in handling. Yet another good reason to own multiple fly rods...and Bob Dylan records.
