Default How do you display your rods/reels....or not..question

So, I'm sure many of you have THE room in the house your wife let's you "decorate" with your gear, whether it's animal mounts, old tools, antique outdoor gear or whatnot. My question is: Do any of you display your current fly rods and reals? If so, how do you do it or what type of display do you use? Pics would be great.

I currently have my deer mounts up so when I accumulate more fly rods/reels I would like to possibly display them in "my" room.

Funny you should ask. I just met with my father in law to design an oak display system that expands to add more.

All the displays I've seen are typically restricted to show a certain number and then you have to buy a whole new rack.

For example, I ordered a $20 pine rack, it held only 6 rods. I just got my 7th one and would have to buy another 6 rod rack and take up MORE wall space.

So I'm working on a design of oak that you add onto.

I don't display any of my rods or reels. They have a spot in my truck or wader bag until its fun time!

Most of my rods sit in the corner of the living room in their tubes when not in use. That's if they're not already in my car. This last crazy heat wave made me bring all my rods back inside. I had 6 rods in my trunk at the time. My vintage reels sit on a shelf mainly because it's a convenient place to have them. And my bamboo sits out on the antlers of a 8 pt deer skull I found earlier this year that sits above my fly tying desk.

I'm another tube guy. I have always thought that a large (or small) accumulation of rod tubes in the corner of the den or loft were attractive. I used to keep a bunch of old reels on a book shelf but they only gathered dust there so I leave them in their cases and keep them all in a fishpond gear duffel.

Every now and then I display something but when that happens I do it like this and post it here. Then I put them away

I'm thinking of making all of those into 11 X 14" color prints and doing a wall display of framed matted art. They won't gather dust that way, just a thought for displaying

In their tubes, in commercial wire rack shelving, in the heated workshop, in the garage.

The reels are in LLBean 12-reel carrying cases.

It's easier to sneak in another new one when they're just tubes stuck in the closet.

Just sayin'...

Mine aren't really displayed. All the rods are in their tubes, standing up in an old oak barrel in the den, except for 1 bamboo rod. It sits across 2 pegs on the stone face of an unused fireplace. The reels are mostly in an old leather duffel bag tht sits next to the barrel.
