Yes. I have stalked Justin quite a bit about this...

Perhaps she’s a Vikings fan at heart.

I have to take a picture of a house near mine. The woman that lives there loves purple. ALL of her clothing is purple. Her house is purple...really purple. It is sort of a landmark. Her furniture is purple, the walls are purple...if she has it, it's purple. She sold her refrigerator at a garage sale a few years ago...even it was purple.

Perhaps this is a cautionary tale of what can happen if you overdo your support of your wife's love of purple. Her husband will probably be buried in a purple casket.

Along with the pink and purple for my wife, one might also say that I am a purple fanatic, which kinda tends to reflect in my race car

Why not? If it makes her happy and you enjoy her companionship on the river, go for it. I met a young lady last Christmas holiday on a ski lift who told me that her favorite gift this year was a new pair of pink waders! 😎
Get your feet wet,
Roger

The reason I like 'Loomis rods of the past. Plain black with gold or silver trim bands. Manly. But if the wife fished maybe she would want something with color.

I'd fish a purple rod as long as it was on the darker side. Around Baltimore it might be a hot seller. I don't see too much difference in terms of outlandishness between some of the fiberglass options out there.

Ok then how about the fly version of the Duster race car, a 7pc 9' 3/4wt, also fast.

I wouldn't use a purple rod and reel, for the same reason that I fish with purple flies. It's the color that fish see the best !
