Default Virgin Floater (1st river float/fish trip)

Finally got to go in a float trip, and had a blast.

Floated the Colorado River from Pumphouse to State Bridge at 1250 cfs. Weather alternated between pouring rain and bright sun. Fishing generally sucked when it was bright out, so we just accepted the good fishing with the pouring rain.
It took a few miles to get the pace/retrieve down, but ended up doing ok with streamers and stones. Boated maybe a dozen fish, and missed countless strikes. Had one bigger fish come off right next to the boat.
Long story short, I'm fully hooked... Now will be floating whenever possible!

Fished black and white tandem streamers, articulated big streamers, stones, and worms. Streamers drew so many strikes (although many were missed), that I couldn't put the streamer rod down. Big browns torpedoing out of the water at the streamers were awesome to see. Caught one rainbow in about 16 miles of total floating (did Pumphouse to Radium the first evening).
Thanks to friends for letting me be the third wheel!

Sounds like a great time, wish I was there ! Nice pictures, and nice fish. It only gets better from here. First float gives you an idea of what to expect, and sets the hook in you. Glad you had fun !
