Default ROSS new Flow reel

Here is a new reel from ROSS that is interesting. Take a look at this video. This looks like something Joni would like in the lakes she fishes. ].

..just watched the video and it looks to be a great reel.. out of my price range but then again most things are..

hey Joni.. does this look like a familiar recent topic.. .. if I remember right one of the rods that was suggested is the Okuma Aventa rod .. among others.. it runs just under 100.00.. (if my memory serves me right)...

Center pins are also an interesting alternative on spey rigs, too bad that option is limited by the single size offering. But, it might be a fit to the lighter spey rig I'm contemplating... and I can get it at a 50% discount!

I like the idea, but I don't consider it to be fly fishing. Much closer to spin fishing.

Do a google search on Center Pin Fishing and you'll find sites with lots of info. You Tube has some detailed videos of casting one in action.

In a nutshell, you make an looping sidearm or underhand cast (using a very long rod) and as soon as you let go the line with your line hand, you form a ring with your thumb and index finger and hold it out perdendicular to the reel, and let the line flow through he ring. Your line hand becomes the "stripping guide" of the rod.
