Default Help with a steelhead rod

I'm buying a 10wt for steelhead (single handed). I've thrashed the internet the last couple days and there are so many options its tough to land on one.
my budget is $300-$500
Pls give me your top one or two rods.

Why a 10wt? That is a ton of rod for steelies. I would vecaiming for a 10' 7wt or even a 9' 8wt.

I have an 8wt. Fishing on the Salmon River in NY a couple weeks ago and the 8wt wasn't enough. Had a steelhead and a salmon pull me all over the river -- I just couldn't control them. Didn't land either fish but both were 10 plus pounds. Combination of their size and the river make it tough on an 8wt.
what is your favorite rod brand?
thanks

Just a guy, not made of money, that wants to make a good choice for a fly rod.

On a recent outing, we fished 9ft 10wts for Kings and continued to use 10s once we figured Steelies were moving in. Less ideal for steel, I might opt for an 8 to target them exclusively. If you're looking for one do it all rod when you might be tangling with a king or steel, have a look at the Predator from Redington. I believe they're around $250.

If you can find a 10wt Orvis Hydros I'd recommend you consider that...I picked up a 10' 7wt for fishing Steelhead Alley and love it...paid $225 for it!

I found a couple of articles that listed what they thought were the top 10 fly rod makers -- Redington showed up on both lists. While Orvis is an obvious good choice, Redington may be a better bang for the buck. Good to hear from someone who has fished the Redington.
