Here is a great old film titled Fishing--Luck or Logic (made by Wright & McGill) that is well worth the time to view (I spotted it over on Moldy Chum).
It starts out with spinning gear, moves to fly rods and has a pretty good segment on reading the water and the stealthy approach to fishing that is still important today.
