Mike: That sounds great! The outside dimension of the certificate is 11" x 17" so the mat could be about 3/8" inside of those dimensions and still not cut anything off.

If you and Rick are going to fish over here this summer, just hold on to it until then, otherwise let me know and I will pass you my address.

Is there any wood or look in particular that you are going for? My dad will love having a project to do. The weather is not conducive to him getting out and doing a lot. It will be a fun project for us to do together.

Larry that is a very cool achievement! The certificate is very cool looking! Consider framing one picture of each Cutty species along side the certificate . That might look nice!
