Default Raven Fork NC for spring break....mabey

So I'm planning a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains for spring break in hopes of hooking some fish. The spot in mind is Ravens Fork in North Carolina, its accessed by a 1.8 mile hike to the water. I was wandering if anyone has any experience here and if so what should I expect? I'm planning on staying for a few days and will most likely be staying in Gatlinburg, TN. What kind of license/permit do I need? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks, Dylan.

Also is there a place to park at the Hyatt Ridge trailhead?

Plenty of parking at the trailhead.

If your in Gburg...thats a bit of driving to fish Raven.

Plenty of water just outside Gburg.

Roaring Fork up through Rainbow falls.
Elkmont.
441 along the road...I start about a mile before Alum Cave trailhead
Little River between Elkmont and Metcalf Bottoms.

Enough to keep you busy for weeks.

You just need out of state lic. No need for trout stamp if fishing park waters.

That 1.8 miles is to the top where the trail splits and believe me it is a steep 1.8 miles not to far to the water from top and the fishing is good but it is a ong day if you day trip it.

How long does it take to hike from the trailhead to the water?

Now that im thinking of it.....isnt Enloe Creek along Hyatt?? I have spent most of my time on the Tn. side of the park.

Raven also is part of Cherokee nation, thus more to spent on permits. Even though the Palomino trout was a very cool catch in my book.

A couple of years back, I had a hair up my butt to fling a fly in every named stream in the park. Unfortunately, my log book and detailed trail map is back home in Gburg...Im 800 miles away right now.

I've decided to stay in Cherokee while fishing here. The spot im fishing is inside Great Smoky Mountains and from what I can gather I only need a NC fishing license to fish the park. Is this correct??

Correct...just stay in the park! I think a 3 or 7 day pass is available. NC or Tn is good anywhere in the park.

If you go to the casino and can count cards....dont let the Indians figure you out......They get kinda angry.....

I've still got another year before I can gamble, but I'll remember that if I make a future trip
