Default Shop/lodge positions

This might not be the best place to put this, but here it goes. Mods feel free to do whatever if this is against the rules.

Does anybody know of any possible job openings in the fly fishing industry? Not necessarily looking for a guiding position, but more of a shop/company position that deals with retail sales and customers on a daily basis. Ideally I want to put my degree to use in the field that I am most passionate about - fly fishing.

Resume, CV, and references provided upon request.

I appreciate any and all leads that you guys and gals may have!

-Chase

I believe the corporate headquarters for Cabela's is your hometown, Chase. At the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, that might be a good place to get your start in the industry.
Good luck on your job search. Like the old saying goes, if you do what you love for a living, and you won't ever have to work a day in your life.

You are correct. The Cabela's Corporate HQ is in my town. As ridiculous as it might sound, landing a job there seems to be near impossible (trust me, I've been trying for months).

You may want to check the Vail Resorts job board from time to time. It operates three fly fishing retailers in Colorado (Gore Creek Flyfishermen, Taylor Creek Fly Shop, San Miguel Anglers) plus a several sporting goods shops. You may see posting for the shops sometime this spring.

The job board is jobs.vailresorts.com

Good luck,

Dennis
