I have to second the echo carbons, for the money they are good rods. If you really want to have fun check out some fiberglass rods in a 2-3 wt.

Hi Austin, The rod you use now is a good rod for most flyfishing situations fishing for trout,from small spring creeks to larger rivers, a 4wt Orvis clearwater rod is a good choice. Learning more casts like a roll cast, a tension cast, a backhand cast and others will get you by.Little tricks you learn on the way will also help a lot when trying to catch bigger fish! Become the master of the the rod your using now,and later you'll know exactly what you need or want.
