Default Bamboo finds GOLD

I started then year off looking for the perfect Carp rod. Even thought of having one built. Then I swung the Sweetgrass Mantra at the Idaho Fly Tying Show in April. Dave had an easy sell as I found I was casting into the backing with little effort.
It is a 7'9" Hex 6 wt (reads 5 wt, but that will be corrected)
It has been a wonderful carp rod.

Went for a bike ride today and had my Tenkara with a cream colored Mid on. I could see the gold moving around so I did a roll case the best I could and danced the fly. One hit it several times and got softly hooked twice but then I figured it out and hooked a couple. Pretty fun.

Hey Joni....Haven't had the opportunity to try out the leader you so graciously sent me. Great carp on a boo....I have never owned a boo but I do remember in the old days about hearing fellas telling about putting a permanent set in their boo rods on heavy fish. Don't know if it was true or not but just be careful with that sweet rod. .....I always wanted an Orvis impregnated boo.
