Default Which fly floating product?

Been years since I've used any and discovered what I had was shot. Suggested choices and why would be good. Another thread got me thinking and this fly will need same: https://donbastianwetflies.com/tag/delaware-adams/

I tried Gink, but it it wasn't viscous enough at times, and at other times it leaked out of the bottle (when in an upside down holder).

I have been far happier with Loon Aquel for application.

That said, once either of them eventually got onto the fly, I couldn't tell the difference.

Fly Floatants for Noobies or What Floats Your Fly

Hydrophobe was the best gel type floatant but it is no longer available. Best now in my opinion is Tiemco Dry Magic. Then use the "shake and bake" combo products like Shimazaki Dry Shake or Loon Top Ride.

Silver is correct, this was the best ever made:

I have all of this stuff and usually go with Aquel, Dry Magic and Frog's Fanny:

I'll be trying this one, once I run out of my 20 year old orvis floatant.

I've been using Loon Outdoors Payette Paste. It's good for a half dozen casts on very calm water, maybe half that on fast, tumbl-y, pocket water. I also have some silica powder that I use occaisonally.
It's clingy enough to work well on tiny emergers on a Leisenring lift.

At home, paraffin wax and white gas just like my grandpa taught me. Follow it up on the water with Tiemco Dry Magic. You can use your Royal Coachman as a life preserver if need be.

PS- Don't dip CDC.
