Thumbs up Re: Newbie

First, WELCOME to the Fora.

Now this may seem silly, but I've found 'Google Search' to be a great tool for this sort of thing. Google the 'where+fishing,' or some variation there of. Amazing the amount of info you can pull up.

Some of it 'dated' to be sure, but maps, et al. The local Chamber of Commerce' is also a valuable resource. Nice Lady on the end of the line will know diddlie, but she will give you names/numbers whom to call.

If a fly shop, do stop by and thank them in person (if possible) and drop a few bucks. That goes a very long way in helping the next 'Guy' that makes the same call.

If they do/sell via a web site, buy something during the call, or on-line and thank them for their info/assistance.

Just trust me on this one!

Hey mcnerney. I have the map. I will stop and buy my license there in Laramie. I think I bought it there last year. They were not too helpful on small stream fishing as I remember but it could have been a different fly shop. I don't think so though. They tried to steer me to the Laramie I think. Just don't recall. Anyway, thanks.

Yes, that can happen, just depends on who is at the counter, still worth asking and be sure to take a look at the caulk board. I don't really care to fish the Laramie River as the access is so limited, unless you know some rancher in the area, then it is a whole different story. Make sure you are stopping at the Four Seasons Anglers fly shop (it is a dedicated fly shop) and not the West Laramie Fly Store (a combo gas station, convenience store, fishing supplies and hunting supplies). The Four Seasons fly shop is just up the street from the West Laramie Fly Store as you head out of Laramie, both are on the right side (north) of the road.

Hi 1tun,

It is not hard to add a picture to your Avatar. You have to size the picture so it is not larger than 80 X 80 pixels or 19.5kb total. You can up load the picture into your NAFFF Gallery or you can up load it directly from your own computer. Click on UserCP at the top of this page and it will take you to your control panel. Scan down to "Settings and Options" and click "Edit Avatar. Then just follow the directions making sure you meet the sizing requirements.

Frank
