Default Memorial Day

Hi All,

Want to wish everyone a very happy Memorial Day. Please take time during your busy schedules to think back on the fallen warriors that have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the things we so often take for granted. Also think of the kids serving now. There's something special and honorable about the "profession of arms". While there's differing opinions politically on current events, remember the troops defending our right to differ. God bless you all and God bless the troops!

Well put indeed Phil. I also would like to thank you for serving.

Today reminded me of an experience I had a while back. Mountain biking is another hobby of mine and I had just finished riding at a trail in the D/FW area on a Saturday. I was loading up my gear and noticed a guy pull up in the parking lot in fatigues. We exchanged standard small talk, "yeah its kinda cold, but not bad once yer back in the trees" etc, etc.

I noticed that the standard issue pack he pulled out had to be over fifty lbs by the way he handled it. I said something to the effect of "So you're out here even on your day off to stay ready to go?"

He says, "Yeah"

More seriously, I said, "Thanks man, I appreciate it"

He says, "You're welcome...................you're worth it."

I damn near tear up every time I remember that.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.

First off, Thanks to all those who without hesitation serve this country.

Cliff, that was a great experience. One I will definitely share with others.
