Especially useful for folks like me with a sore shoulder! This rod will cast the heaviest nymph, and drop it into a Dixie cup. :D

I have a few clients that could make good use of that.
Spending $700. on a rod when you can't cast, and won't practice, is silly.
$40. bucks and you're in there!
Perfect for night fishing too.
Hell, I want one!
I wonder how often Roland uses his?
Thanks for the chuckle Frank.

Doesn't the Navy use something like this to toss a line between ships at sea?
Reminds me of the K-Tell pocket fisherman.
Still wish I had bought on of those.

Hey Guys. I thought this would get some Friday afternoon attention. :D

Forget Wile E. Coyote. Rodney Dangerfield came back from the dead to endorse this thing. Said it's almost as sweet as the putter he used in "Caddshack". :D

Larry,
When I was a kid, we would have shot hooks at each other, rather than fishing....:D

That would work well at Pyramid lake when it's windy, to get way past the lineup.
(Or even clear a spot)
Probably back in the pricey range though.

Being new to Rocket Fishing I have some questions:

1. Would these be available in a three weight, I fish mostly small creeks for brook trout.
2. If I were to choose a heavy duty model for fall steelhead fishing what line would you recommend?
3. I tie my own flies and couldn't help noticing the ducks swimming by in the video, do you think this would kill a duck?

This is a really great forum and you guys are really great, I will watch for your answers.

Dinosaurs Need Not Apply...

Ard,
This fishing rocket represents the future, and AFFTA line weights are no longer useful. Instead, you need to think in terms of caliber: 51mm being a light fishing rocket, and 80mm doing nicely for steelhead. Ducks have as much chance in the future as the dodo bird did in the past, and will fall under the heading of collateral damage. I'm not saying that it would be sporting to intentionally aim the fishing rocket at a duck, but once the warhead has been released, all forms of life will be "judged" by their ability to assess danger and move accordingly.

So what exactly entices the fish to bite? Other than the delicious plastic rocket that is blasted directly at them, that is.
