Never fished one-- In fact the only sage I've ever fished is the Bass line.

The reason for my response is to try to steer you toward casting one prior to purchase. I know the flight is towards the low end of the $$$ range of sage rods, but it is still 300 +..... I'd hate for you to be enamored by the name to find out that the rod is less than you had hoped when IMHO, there may be better rods for less skin.....

Also, a few 'I love mine" responses on a forum is not definitive enough for me to buy anything....

99,
I have been biting my tongue since this thread started. For some reason, I remember you saying that you live in the Davis area. You are within 45 minutes of drive time away from three authorized Sage retailers in Sacramento County. Give the rod a test drive. You may like it, or you may find something else that you like more.

Shop owners, Bill, Gary, and Bernie will appreciate your business.

yeah, if you're in davis, sacramento is within striking distance as Mosca wrote, more like 25-30 minutes distance i'm guessing. respectfully, what's holding you back?

i have the flight in a 10wt. it cast nice. Its light like sages other rods. on the larger rods the fighting butt...... a little dinky. It works, just looks....... cheap. cork is ok. I like the rod, with my #6 reel it still lighter than my 7wt redington setup. hope that helps. i mostly use it for salmon so i only use it 2 months out of the year.
