What's your budget?

TFO switches start at $329.
Redington switches start at $349.

I was thinking more of about $150? I might just have to bite the bullet and chuck up the dough.

Switches have been around for several years, but they are fairly new to the mainstream side of the sport. If you look hard enough, you can find a used one in that price range.

St. Croix Imperial switches start at $240.

I would check with Justin at Allen FF for a price on his new line of rods. He will have his switch rod out around December. Ive been pleased with all of his products recently. His reels, rods, and line. This new line he has coming out seems to be even more promising than the series I have.
Just my half-nickel......

You could build one for the amount you mentioned as your budget...

I believe Cabela's has one for less than $200. It's a nice rod.
