Boone-

Wow, looks great!

Excellent job on the wraps, they really set the blank off.

Good luck with it, you'll have a blast with that 2wt

Thumbs up Re: The rod i built

Fine looking rod. I have to find the courage to build a rod myself someday. You'll love it on those mountain streams, it's a perfect length and weight.

Boone: Nice work on the new rod, love the color combination you have on the wraps! You'll have a great time with the new rod.

thanks everyone! Im very proud of it. I would really recomend that if you are thinking about making a rod to go ahead and do it. Its very time consuming just because the work is very tedious, but it is not hard and the end result is well worth the time.

I paid 100$ for the kit and if would have bought the rod from a manufacturer i feel i would have paid at least 300$.

Wow you really knocked it off fast too. It seems like you ordered everything just a short while ago. At this rate, by this time next year you should be up to 100 rods or so....

What blank did you get? And did you go with a kit or separate components? And how much experience did you have building other rods before you took on this one? Time to build?

It really looks like a fine job. Excellent work. The winter is long and I'm sure you've got a lot of folks thinking....

Perigrines, it is the IM7 graphite blank. I did order a kit this time but next time it will definately be seperate parts. This was the first rod that i've ever done and thanks to lots of reading and lots of help from people here i feel that it turned out pretty well. In all i believe there was about 35 hours in it.

Thank you for the very kind words.

I hope there are some people thinking. That would be great! If anyone wants a rod just let me know and i'll be glad to build it for ya for hardly anything. I really couldnt believe how much fun i had doing it.

Fishin50, with school and work i have to do something to keep me sane. I usually stay up a little later than i should to get my head back on straight.
