Default 5 years in prison for felt! Ouch

Surfing the web and I ran across this in an online fishing mag site. FLY FISHING AND FLYTYING MAGAZINE I guess if I head to the South island I will definetly be wearing a pair of rubber soled boots.

Biggie: The penalty seems a bit extreme, but it doesn't surprise me that a government has begun to clamp down on felt, figured it was just a matter of time. I'm really surprised CO hasn't prohibited felt with all of the problems they are having.

Yes it is... I've been writing manufacturers for two years about being smarter with their material choices, but the end users are the bottom line, felt or not. We haven't stocked felt boots for 3 seasons now.... won't even order them if requested, that has woken a lot of folks up and gotten them to listen a bit better.
