finally got out in 09
 

I finally got out this year. This is probably the latest I've been out in the past 20 yrs. I usually fish right thru the winter & I've been out on Jan 2 but this year it's been hell. I finally just said the hell with it & went to the river after my daily treatment. Water temp was 48 degrees Wed & the river was in good shape, good clear flow. I managed to pick up a bunch of fish. on olive hare's ear s & micro caddis's.I tried like hell to get a underwater picture of one of them but the fish were not cooperative. .. Here's a picture of one bow.. Not the biggest but not the smallest either .It 's a pretty fish.

good looking fish! I am getting out Sunday for the first trip of the year. I cannot wait.

I was out last Sunday on the Norwalk, water temps were around 30-37 degrees, depending on where you were. Managed a small-ish 9" Brown on a size 16 wiggle-tail nymph. Once the snow melt started, that was it for fishing. Water turned turbid and visibility was nil.

Nice fish. I went out on that WARM Wed and got skunked. That's just where I left off last year.

went out today on the Jackson River and got skunked! It was around 38-40 degrees. Saw fish but they showed no interest in our offerings.

It was good to be out there but I sure feel like a mack truck ran over me after 5 miles in waders.
