Question going to ST. Croix - the island, March 09

I am new to salt water fly fishing, have an 8 weight set up with both floating and sinking lines, would appreciate any suggestions on where to fish on St Croix (walk in, no boat and unfortunately, low budget) early March.

Also, what flys/lures to bring, or are there any fly shops on the island to buy some flys and gain some local knowledge.

My research indicates fishing is poor in St Croix compared to other US and Brit virgins. No destination options however because my son lives there and we are going down to visit.

Any advice appreciated,
