Re: Who fishes LMFR

I've been known to fish these waters. But it's been about a day since I fished them last.

Me and a couple of buddies would like to but have never made it down there. We go to blue quite a bit, but i know they are no where near the same. The last time i was at blue i fished near a lady for a while and she said we really should go to the LMFR. Any tips on first timers down there?

I should be there this weekend with my girlfriend in a park cabin . May need a ride to the spillway if anyone is going that way. She may not want to get up with the fishes like myself. Need to practice for some small stream fly fishing in New Mexico or Colorado this summer.

I really enjoy Beaver Bend and fishing the LMFR. I'm just green to the gills when it comes to fly fishing but I enjoy the heck out of it. Maybe I'll see you out there.

Later,
Terry

I do, but sure don't get up there enough. I need to fish the zn 2 section more, and try zn 3 out someday too. I usually just fish spillway creek. Wanna try the deep sections with sinking lines and streamers too, there's gotta be some PIGS in there.

Anybody know when the one-fly tourney is set for this year?

Mike I'm definitely planning on fishing it this year. I think I placed 4th last year. Should have moved around and caught more, but there were so many visible in that one hole I couldn't bring myself to leave.

We may have met last year, I'm not sure. I was fishing with Judd from Monroe, LA. He was great fun to fish with. Hope to see you there!

Default OKBOW68 come on down

OKBOW68 If you like fishing the blue, all you need to do is come on down the the LMF with your gear. I would hit spill way creek and get after it..the only place better is somewhere is colorado but were closer.

OKBOW68, i'll second mike's recommendation to go fish the LMF. Its beautiful and great fishing too. Watch your footing on spillway creek though, it can be awful slick.

You also might want to say your farewells to your blue river fishing buddies, 'cuz you'll never want to fish for trout anywhere in OK except the LMF. If you get tired of Spillway creek at the LMF, go to one of the shops and learn about zone 2. Its a much bigger river down there and there's tons of fish there.
