Default the snakes are out!

Well here in SE Georgia the snakes have started to come out. So be careful around those cut banks and tree stumps! We got a picture of one laying in the sun last weekend!

Yikes!

I almost stepped on a rattler once in CO-- it scared the yogurt out of this city boy... I ended up doing some sort of a break dance... in waders.

Hi hairsearnymph,

Thanks for the heads up.

I remember back in maybe 1953 my buddy and I were fishing on opening day. We were in the mountains were there was a large concentration of rattlers. We were walking along a twisting brushy trail. I was leading and my three piece rod was broken down in my hand. Just as I started to make a sharp turn in the trail I spotted this rattler right at my feet. I jumped straight up in the air, turned 180 degrees and struck down at the snake with my fly rod, while hollering "Oh ****". By the time I hit the ground I realized it was dead. I scared the devil out of my partner behind me. He didn't know what was going on. Some idiot had killed the snake and laid it in the trail.
