You've got a lot of great suggestions.
When all else fails.... and after you've eaten all the chips with the beer and bells.... you might try a sink tip (or fast sink poly leader) and something big and black- like a size 6 zonker, marabou muddler etc. Cast it out, count to 10 mississippi's or hippotomussessesses) to let it get down and then rip it back fast. You can vary the count to get down to different depths. Odds are 50-50 it'll either scare everything to the other side of the lake or get slammed by something...
