Default what makes us happy?

last week i cought a 18 inch rainbow in tough conditions here in montana. the 5 weight rod and cold water made short work of the battle. .. yesterday i caught a 14 inch brown on a new three weight.. i was totally delighted, even tho the wind and weighted fly over the scud made casting very difficult, and when the wind blew it was impossible, leaving me to poor roll casts at short distances untill i get the hang of it.. but becouse it was a brown and i caught it on the three weight it just made my whole week... dave...

I know it may sound strange but I would honestly rather fish with light tackle for eight inch brookies that slam a royal wulff in a small mountain creek then catch 20 inch hawgs any day.

I love the small water fishing and find nothing more enjoyable then a dozen wild brookies on topwater flies.

I think any time you can see the take, that's gonna be some of your most exciting fishing. Whether its a rolling take on a caddis, an indicator jumping, a grapefruit sized mouth engulfing a popper, or one of those "toilet-flushing" takes you get from a redfish in shallow water, that's all hard to beat.

Geez I need to go fish.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.

I love flyfishing for large fish with the lightest possible tackle. I love Bass & Trout fishing with my 4wt Sage VPS. It is a blast when you hook into a 2-3lb'r or better on light tackle!
