Trying my hand at tying .. LOTS to learn ... think I can find a fish that will wonder what this tastes like ?

I'd try it as a drowned bee. That could be very effective.

looks like a whitefish fly that folks here fish with a big bobber and sinker on a spinning rod.... i'm sure it'll catch fish.
