Default Fishing Bowman Lake in Glacier Park

Has anybody here ever fish Bowman lake in Glacier National Park? I have it in my mind to get a Scadden pontoon and oar the 8 miles up to the far in where the creeks are feeding the lake. I would camp out for 3 nites on the pontoon (bear country) and fish my way back.

I don't expect this to be a lake brimming with fish but, I might do rather well fishing the upper end. I enjoy these kind of getaways from the norm and if anyone has some advice for fishing a high mountain lake I would love to hear from you.

Dave: I've only been to Glacier NP once and it was just sight seeing so I can't help on the fishing, sorry. Sounds like a great trip, but eight miles of rowing is a long ways, you might think about adding either an outboard or electric trolling motor (if allowed in the park). Dave Scadden sells motor mounts for his pontoon boats. What model pontoon are you thinking about getting?
