I'll second that. I have a whole stack of rags but I couldn't tell you the name of one of them if you were offering $1 million. Some are better than others, but I usually find something I like in all of them.

My favorite print magazine is California Fly Fisher. My favorite online magazine is Catch Magazine.

Attention New Fly Fishers and those just wanting to improve- Join a Fly Fishing Club. They have classes on every aspect of fly fishing for beginners to advanced for free or cheaper than offered elsewhere. Some offer mentor programs. You will make friends with other fly fishers. Clubs often have outings in which members pay special group rates for guides or to fish prime private access areas.

Unfortunately, they don't print my favorite magazine anymore. And it's the reason I found these forums in the first place:

Fish & Fly Magazine

It was a GREAT magazine and I try to buy them whenever they pop up on ebay. Great articles and stories. I subscribe to Fly Fish Jounal, but I have rarelly found interest in many of the articles. While it's really well made, the articles are about too many niche things for me, usually. I found the article on the movie Tarpon interesting and everyone loves Steelhead, but when am I going to go to Japan to fly fish?

Anyways, I find the Eastern Fly Fishing the first mag I pick up to see the articles, because I have a better chance of making it to those places than Tazmania.
