Default welding feathers

i have some split feathers on my jungle cock cape and wondered if modge podge (from a craft store ) do the exact same thing feather weld does as i priced feather weld and the guy tryed chargeing me $20 for a tiny bottle of it so i left it to see if anyonee here knows a subsitute that will save me money my mum suggested modge podge but you will know whats best

Vince I use clear nail polish on the underside. Not sure what others use.....Kerry

thanks guys i did think about some clear head varnish but thought it might be to brittle
thanks again just dont want to waste any of the feathers
