Default Peak Vise Tip

I've been tying on a Peak vise for 3 years, and sometimes wondered whether the jaws would benefit from a light coating of grease. As I said in another thread, I don't always read directions.... When I finally bought midge jaws for the Peak a month or so ago, I really wondered if a dry jaw shaft needed some lube. I was on Peak's site last week, and they suggested that a light coating of grease in the shaft might help its operation. This morning
I was changing jaws, and put a light coat of grease in the shaft, and WOW!!!! I thought the jaws were smooth before, but they close like butter now: less effort to close, and greater tension on the hook. Highly recommended!

I wonder if other vises would benefit from being greased. What kind of grease Frank?

I didn't want to dig too far into the closet, so grapped some of this grease:
SLIME It's not much different in viscosity than lithium, and I suppose
that would work just as well. The Slime and lithium grease would work better
than bearing grease, at least in terms of odor.
